Mocean Worker, a.k.a. Adam Dorn, has spent the last two decades galvanizing the sounds of electronic, jazz, soul, and funk to produce a singular and unmistakable style. Now, after an eight-year release hiatus, he returns with his tenth LP, BOOMBOX: a high-energy, deeply reverential, danceable, and genre-rejecting project that marks a fresh chapter in Mocean Worker’s acclaimed discography. 

Guided by the inspiration of Stevie Wonder, Wayne Shorter, The Gap Band, and Motown sensibilities, Dorn sees BOOMBOX as as stylistic arrival. “This record sounds like what I wanted music to be like when I was 17 and didn’t know how to make music yet,” he says. 

Dorn’s bass-playing is the heart and soul of the album: “It’s a love letter to the bass,” Dorn says. While his career originated with his virtuosic bass-playing, he opted not to play on his own records for his first eight albums—he focused on hyper-detailed mini-sampling, digital production, and synthesizers. “I shied away from showing my bass-playing skills because it was my entry into the music business as a session musician, not an artist and a songwriter. Those days and that mindset are now over,” says Dorn. Now, bass hooks take center stage in BOOMBOX’s melodies, with a careful intention to avoid the overwrought cliche of the bass solo. “I now feel like my style of bass-playing and my composing style are in sync with one another,” Dorn says. “I finally feel like I’ve found a balance where one side isn’t denied or overexposed.” 

After spending the last decade focused on composing for films and television, Dorn reached a revelation about his own creative practice. “I needed to create music for the love and pure joy of creating it again.” The 12 tracks poured out of him in less than three weeks, christening his new studio space in the woods of New York state. The titular boombox is equal parts metaphorical and material. “In my studio sits an early ‘80s JVC boombox, and absolutely perfect example of the era. My father used it to check and evaluate mixes during his process of making some incredible records. This device was a constant companion in my childhood—it came to be a symbol for me of creation.” 

Along with creating beats, a boombox allows blasting music for a party. Through recent years of societal upheaval, mass crises, and personal grief, Dorn offers a collection of upbeat tracks, but which never sacrifice substance. “BOOMBOX is a metaphor for partying, community, and gathering. This is about people gathering and enjoying something.” Many of the songs are tributes to Dorn’s personal friends, including the late Hal Willner and Gerald Lee, and his musical heroes like Wayne Shorter and Rahsaan Roland Kirk. “The songs are written as thoughts for other people, something connected to them that is positive, artistic, intellectual.” Above all, BOOMBOX epitomizes the musical philosophy of Mocean Worker—it is at once an elegy to art and artists of a bygone era and an upbeat celebration of the sound of the present.

Adam Corey Tenenbaum is a composer, sound designer and experimental guitarist, who routinely falls into odd rabbit holes. Adam created the warped, psychedelic content performed by Mickey Hart (Grateful Dead) in Dead & Company's infamous "Drums and Space" segments, made sound design for Beyonce's 2018 Coachella performance, as well as music and sound design for numerous film trailers and experimental albums, currently as Giant Metal Crickets and Wooden Flowers with Michal Menert of Pretty Lights. Most recently, Adam created soundscapes for Oteil Burbridge's (Dead and Company/Allman Bros.) A Lovely View Of Heaven album of Jerry Garcia ballads.

Adam Tenenbaum

Born to Nigerian and Kenyan parents, Adeniyi “Synematik” Adelekan developed an affinity for music at an early age, growing up surrounded by great music, classical and contemporary. He credits the genesis of his diverse taste in music to his parents' vinyl and cassette collection they began acquiring during their college days in 1970s England. Everyone from Mozart to Motown to ABBA to The Beatles were a daily part of his growing experience. Being part of a musical household, classical piano lessons and playing in church were the norm, opening the door to his musical journey as a composer and producer.


After graduating from Berklee College of Music, he moved to New York City. While experiencing discouraging setbacks at the start of his career, a serendipitous meeting with the legendary Stevie Wonder was just what he needed to keep him going. Stevie took the time to listen to his music, and told him not to give up, sharing with him some timeless words of musical and life wisdom. Doors eventually began to open slowly but surely, leading to work and learning experiences with award-winning producers and camps such as Roc Nation, Stargate, Bad Boy, Seven Aurelius, Havoc, Dennis Ferrer, and many others.


He has produced songs on major label releases for Boyz II Men (BMG), Angélique Kidjo (Universal), Polly A (Interscope), Anthony Flammia (Universal), Kat Dahlia (Epic), Boyce Avenue (Universal), and amazing up-and-comers like Angel (RCA) and Adekunle Gold.


He's also gathered an impressive list of visual credits, placing music on WWE Smackdown, HBO NFL Series, PGA Golf, FIFA World Cup and more.

Adeniyi Adelekan

Aizhou (I-JO) Liu is a Chinese-born, NYC-based multi-genre composer who specializes in writing original songs for picture. She writes music fusing traditional Chinese and modern Western culture and sings in both English and Mandarin. She is known for “composing fun.”

In film & TV, Aizhou’s music has been featured in various programs and was heard at Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals. In gaming, she’s worked with AAA developers including Zynga and ByteDance.

Aizhou is an alumna of Berklee College of Music (Bachelor’s) and New York University (Master’s). Aside from music, Aizhou is a backpacking hiker and loves spending her free time in nature.

Aizhou Liu

Ali Ochoa is a Venezuelan composer who currently resides in Miami.

He is mostly known for his cinematic, electronic and classical music compositions. The scope of his work is versatile and ranges from synthesizers, electric guitars and string quartets to Southern American folk music and many others. His passion for music and love for film brought him the opportunity to work with the Venezuelan awarded director Andreina Isea in the movie “Maru Style.” 

His work proved to be outstanding and the phone calls from directors in the United States and Spain began to pour in. He went on to create the soundtracks for “Dónde está Memo” (movie), “Desmotivaciones Domésticas” (short film), “Un Gran Pase” (short film), "Las Ganas" (short film), “Fair Fight” (short film) and “The Best You Got” (short film).

At the age of 29, he moved to New York to obtain his Master’s Degree in Studio Composition at Purchase College (2016-2018). He studied alongside Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Du Yun, Jakub Ciupinski (New York art-vanguard composer), Grammy-winning producer Peter Denenberg, Emmy-winner composer Allyson Bellink and the multi-awarded Darren Solomon.

In 2021, his song “Tu Mejor Amiga” got a placement in the movie “TQM” which is currently streaming worldwide on Amazon Prime. Based on his composition skills, Ali won “The American Protégé 2019” competition, through which he performed a piano solo concert at Carnegie Hall in 2022.

Other highlights in his unique career include producing albums for over 100 independent artists, composing the main theme for TV commercials and releasing his own albums as an artist, in which we find fused cinematic sounds, electronic textures, classical music and visual art.

Ben began composing as a child and decomposing shortly thereafter. Currently the De-Boner in Residence at the School for Modern Butchers, he enjoys the sounds of transactional love performed on the oud, the taste of near-beer, and that feeling that you get just before everything falls apart.

Brian Randazzo is the Senior Producer at VideoHelper and has been a Composer and Mastering Engineer since 2005.

He’s produced hundreds of tracks for the library and specializes in guitar. He studied at Berklee College of Music (hated it) before writing music at MTV for "Making the Band," "Run’s House" and many other shows.

Brian is not friendly until after he’s had his second cup of coffee in the morning.

Camelia Soledad is a young singer and multi-instrumentalist based in Venezuela.

She has performed in Mexico City in 2019 and 2021 with the Coro Sinfónico del Estado Zulia and has also toured as a solo artist in festivals in Venezuela.

Currently, she works with music producer Ali Ochoa as a vocal performer in compositions for film and TV. She is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree at Facultad Experimental de las Artes (FEDA) and her new album.

Cheyenne Jolene was born and raised in North Carolina, where she sang in church at a very young age. She moved to Kansas City, MO as a teen where she started her first pop band while also performing in local jazz clubs. Chris Jones (Kris Jonz) is a composer, sound designer, video artist and musician working in all forms of film, TV, and new media. His material is arrived at via live improvisation, field recording, software-based manipulation and other aleatoric performance practices. He is a performer in the NYC free jazz community (upright bass, Chapman Stick) and a one-time percussion student with Frank Cassara (Steve Reich, Philip Glass). Additionally, Chris is a graduate from Berklee College of Music’s Film Scoring department.

His diverse work regularly occupies both avant-garde and commercial landscapes. His performance and recording collaborations include: The MoMA, The Museum of Contemporary Art (L.I.), Guild Hall, The Watermill Center, East End Arts Council, CBGB’s, The Knitting Factory, Gary Lucas, Daniel Carter, The Piano Salon at YASI, ABC No Rio, Kaufman Music Center, The Tilles Center, and Southampton Arts Center.

A lifelong guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Dan was VideoHelper's first staff composer, best known for his anonymous contributions to the library. 

He cut his musical teeth in NYC’s alt rock scene, back in the ‘90s, and since then, has written numerous tracks for national and regional ads, indie films and film trailers and TV promos. Dan is a fan of both rock and electronica, and his music often blends the two in unusual ways. Fiercely committed to his art, he swore in his salad days to pair each of his compositions with a tattoo and now realizes perhaps he ought to have chosen a smaller scale for his body art... 

When he is not songwriting, Dan can be found writing fiction, cooking or practicing parkour in Los Angeles, where he lives with his family.

Florian Seraul composes emotionally charged, evocative music that transports his audience. While Florian is skilled in many musical genres, he primarily creates contemporary scores and electronica music. His scores weave elements of modern classical, strings and Nordic influences into a cohesive whole. Located in France, he regularly collaborates with string orchestras. In 2019, 2022, and 2023, he recorded several of his compositions in the prestigious Abbey Road and AIR Studios in London.

Florian Seraul

Francy Fonseca is an indigenous female singer based in Venezuela.

She is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree at Facultad Experimental de las Artes (FEDA) focusing on performance and singing and lyric art. She is part of the Carminae Choir which is the main project of the university.

She also works with music producer Ali Ochoa on Film and TV projects, recently recording the song “Hasta los Huesos” which was used at the gala of the indigenous foundation Wayuu Taya, held in New York.

Francy is proud of being a “Guajira” (indigenous from Venezuela/Colombia). She is working hard to take her traditions and music to a new level. Her goal is to be recognized as the first “Guajira” to spread her culture to the world.

Gabriella Mejias is a Peruvian bilingual songwriter and artist from NYC. Her hook-driven melodies, soul-clenching vocals, and vulnerable lyricism give each song she writes power and honest truth. 

Gabriella’s versatility in her writing can be seen in her songs, ranging in genres from Metal Rock and Pop all the way to Latin and R&B. Her writing and vocals have been featured on Spotify "New Music Friday" and "Top New Hits" playlists, as well as various other TV and film promotions. 

She has worked and released with notable names such as Cyan Kicks, Chris Walla, Yonni, and Grammy nominated duo NERVO. She has upcoming placements with artists such as Grammy nominated/award winning artist Nella. Gabriella strives to put every bit of her personality and passion into every song she writes.

Gabriella Mejias

Working as a freelance producer and engineer and a club DJ, Jason Petrin has built a career in the audio world, both in the studio and on the stage. After graduating from Berklee in 2004, he began his career working in studios in and around Boston, producing and engineering records for a variety of bands, artists, and rappers. 

In 2005, he became one half of the DJ duo Jefr Tale. As part of Jefr Tale, he hosted a weekly radio show on SiruisXM; performed at some of the biggest festivals and venues across North America and Brazil, including the Ultra Music Festival, the Global Dance Festival, and Burning Man; and produced a string of successful original releases. 

Following up on the success of Jefr Tale, Petrin plunged deeper into electronic production, working with several other DJs and producers, and branching out into hip-hop production and pop songwriting. He continues to split his time evenly between producing, engineering, writing, and performing.

Joseph Saba is a composer, producer, and co-founder of VideoHelper, one of the most widely used production-music catalogs in television, film, and streaming media. Since the early 1990s, his work has been heard across thousands of broadcast, cable, and digital programs worldwide, including network news, live sports, entertainment, documentaries, trailers, and major international events. His music has underscored the Olympics, FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl, NBA Championships, global breaking news, and prime-time series across ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, ESPN, HBO, Netflix, BBC, and numerous international networks. He has composed theme and identity music for national programming, original scores for two Lionsgate feature films, and worked on several independent artist and album projects.

Saba blends orchestral writing, contemporary production, and narrative sound design to create emotionally driven music that deepens and shapes the storytelling experience. For more than two decades, he has worked closely with editors, mixers, music directors, and creative teams, helping shape how production music functions and integrates within high-visibility media environments. His background includes performing in several bands, including an appearance on MTV’s 120 Minutes as keyboardist for Fabulon (Chrysalis/EMI). A personal favorite moment: the Saturday Night Live band performing his Suze Orman Show theme.

Outside of his composing work, Saba is a founder and the current Vice Chair of the Production Music Association, working to support composer education, strengthen professional community, and champion the recognition and fair valuation of production music worldwide.

His work has received multiple PMA Mark Awards and Production Music Awards across orchestral, rock, and media categories. He continues to compose actively while supporting emerging creators and contributing to the ongoing evolution of the production music field.

Kelly Mac is an award-winning producer and composer who specializes in modern genres as well as scoring to picture. With the passion and drive to blend pop record production and innovative film score, she is constantly working on creating a uniquely fresh and commercially successful sound.

She has collaborated on cutting edge campaigns with numerous recognizable brands including Nike, Reebok, ESPN, and CoverGirl and television shows including "The George Lopez Show". She has been featured in iStandard’s "Producer Showcase" and produced singers from MTV’s "Making the Band", "The Voice", and "The X Factor".

Recently she has been working alongside Grammy-winning producer LuneyTunez (Rihanna, Future) and a vast array of top level writers and producers. She is also highly sought after for motion pictures, and has provided music for feature films including BET’s "Block Party", HBO’s "Luna", Netflix’s "A New York Christmas Wedding", and shorts including "Descended from the Promised Land: The Legacy of Black Street" and "The Spring" which were highlighted in the American Black Film Festival and Tribeca Film Festival. Her work is regularly heard in advertisements, film, tv, and interactive media.

A summa cum laude graduate of Berklee College of Music with a bachelor’s in Contemporary Writing and Production as well as Music Business Management, the Northern Virginia native grew up classically trained on trumpet and self-taught on piano. Her early participation in music subsequently led to a prodigious interest and passion for writing and production. Her overall mission is to make a lasting impact on the ever-changing music industry by bringing out the authentic voice in all artists, media, and brands.

Estonian-born composer and record producer Ms Madli gained wider recognition after winning a series of producer competitions. Her list of accomplishments includes securing the first place spot in iStandard’s "Producer Showcase" in New York, taking top prizes at Brewery Recording Studio's Beat Battle and Tight 32 Producer Challenge in Atlanta, and claiming second place at the ASCAP Expo in LA.

Ms Madli has since crafted music for some of the top brands such as Google and Airbnb. Skilled in producing songs and scoring music in a variety of genres, her work features in films, advertisements, TV promos, and hundreds of prime-time TV shows from History Channel to HBO.

In 2022, Ms Madli’s outstanding work earned her nominations for both the Mark Awards in LA and the Production Music Awards in the UK.

A multi-instrumentalist skilled in many genres, Matt joined the VideoHelper family as a staff composer in 2009, after 9 years of writing music for commercials and touring/recording with his bands, receiving multiple awards and accolades along the way.

Michael considers himself a consulting developer.

He likes to push creative projects to their limits, which often means experimenting with forms, assumptions, and expectations. It’s his goal to make amazing things, because he believes each moment is precious. His mantra is “if you think you’ve done the best you can, don’t stop.”

Michael's notable personal achievements include a #1 song as a songwriter, a top 20 UK dance/club song as an artist, and is a member of NARAS. He's also spent nearly a decade as a vocalist for a major religious organization in New York, and had the privilege of singing for legends like Hugh Jackman.

From youth onward, Michael has filled various shoes and worn different hats — and occasionally, a shirt and pants. The shoes’ soles have worn out; the hats lost to wind or monkey-in-the-middle and his right to public air-bathing in perpetuinudity has been quashed.

What else to do but find nearly equally satisfying bliss in making sounds out of thin air and thick brain? Evolved into somewhat of a mad scientist who isolates from the vapid mainstream on a metaphoric moon’s dark side, Michael now lives only to bend ears in prismatic fashion…a reanimator of sounds yet unheard…or unclothed.

Mike Bielenberg is an Atlanta-based keyboardist who specializes in writing/arranging music for live orchestra. He has a degree in music composition and has been a VideoHelper contributor since 2000.

"I believe every moment of our lives could be made better with film music," says Bielenberg. "I've found there's no better place to assert this belief than special occasions with friends and family."

"Why listen to some EDM banger at a bachelor party when you can instead crank up Thomas Newman's theme to 'Little Women'? Why play some old Motown ballad at your wedding when you can instead play Christophe Beck's love theme from 'Free Guy'; with its chromatic build that climaxes into soaring pandiatonic string clusters? People don't need more hugs. They need more gut-wrenching counterpoint played by kick-ass orchestras."

Mike has composed and produced music for IBM, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Cartoon Network and others. He's received Aegis, Axiem and Telly awards for his original scores.

Mr.Narly, the artist and songwriter hailing from Tampa, FL, is recognized for his seamless flow and clever lyrics. Demonstrating versatility in his musical prowess, he effortlessly navigates various genres such as Pop, Hip Hop, World, and R&B, pushing the boundaries of his artistry. Kicking off 2019 with a bang, he dropped two tracks named 'Quenched' and 'Ferris Bueller.'

However, life threw him a curveball when he was diagnosed with a condition called AVM, leading to a challenging chapter that required brain surgery. Yet Mr.Narly didn't let this setback halt his creative journey. Despite the hurdles, he concluded the year with the release of 'Yum Yum,' a song infused with World-Afro-Caribbean beats.

In 2020, teaming up with his longtime producer, The Craftzman, Mr.Narly launched a collaborative project titled 'Craft The Wave.’

Niccolò Hilgendorf is an American composer specializing in large-scale orchestral music.

His music has been featured in films, TV series, video games, and other visual media projects across a wide variety of genres. He also composes under the alias May The Gods. He has an M.A. from Berklee College of Music.

Nick is a composer, songwriter, and voice actor who can play just about any instrument at a 4th-grade level (and a few of them a little bit more than that!). 

While both his music and voice work have earned many television appearances, Nick has only had one shot: a second-place finish on Jeopardy! in which he missed a chance to answer a clue about one of his favorite bands.

Raised in Berkeley, California, Nicolaas 'Nic.' tenBroek began his musical education with piano lessons at age 9. Nic. was teaching and playing professionally while still a student at Berkeley High School.

As a composer, Nic. has created scores for feature film, network television, and documentary films. His most recent film scores include "The Amateurs," starring Jeff Bridges, Ted Danson and Joe Pantoliano; "The Dukes," starring Chazz Palminteri, Robert Davi and Peter Bogdanovich, as well as "Remembering Phil," starring Nick Turturro. Nic. also has composed works for the Kronos Quartet, Turtle Island Quartet, Metropole Orchestra, and a full-length ballet based on Lewis Carroll’s “Through the Looking-Glass.”

As a producer and arranger, Nic. has worked with such artists as jazz singer Nancy Wilson, Bobby McFerrin, Les McCann, and Warner Bros. artists Reel Big Fish. Nic. and producer Alan Abrahams are currently completing the upcoming Les McCann Christmas album. In between his film and television projects, Nic. has been collaborating with Grammy Award-winning producer Val Garay, writing and producing for a variety of recording artists and record labels.

Nicolaas TenBroek

Philadelphia-born, New York-bred, Los Angeles-based, Robert ToTeras is one of the most versatile composers working in television and feature films.

Forbes Magazine cited ToTeras’ “diverse portfolio” as one of the reason “he stands out” amongst his peers. Robert is equally comfortable scoring a high-end docuseries, irreverent comedy or scripted dramas.

Since 2013, Robert has scored TNT and Oxygen’s hit series 'Cold Justice' produced by legendary Emmy-winning producer Dick Wolf. 'Cold Justice' recently aired its 100th episode in 2023.

Robert has also scored multiple shows for Netflix including the nominated series 'Sugar Rush' (for which Robert won a 2020 BMI Award) and its spin-offs 'Sugar Rush: Christmas' & 'Sugar High.'

Current scores by Robert include the Discovery ID/MAX docuseries 'Let Us Prey: A Ministry of Scandals' and the PBS documentary 'The Niagara Movement - The Early Battle for Civil Rights' directed by Emmy winner and  Academy Award nominee Lawrence Hott. Other projects scored by Robert include TV series for NBC, CBS, TNT, Bravo, TeenNick, and documentaries for Showtime.

One of Robert’s tracks written for VideoHelper, “Break Out The Boom Boom,” became a viral sensation when it was used in a promo for the HBO series 'Girls.' As a result, the song was written about in over 50 publications, including E! Online who proclaimed the song “addictive” and Cosmopolitan who called it a “ra-ra anthem… which I want to play every time I walk into a room.”

In a previous life outside of Hollywood and music, Robert ToTeras spent three years as a professional blackjack gambler, and member of a card-counting team in Las Vegas. He has been politely escorted (by well-dressed security teams with earpieces) out of numerous and well-known gaming establishments.

"Hi! My name is Saúl (Sa-ool). My name sounds weird?" says Saúl.

Saúl's originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and is a Berklee College of Music graduate ("not related to my name sounding weird," notes Saúl). He loves how music and sound (especially with visuals) can make us feel, and he's happiest when his music helps someone's project evoke the emotional tone they need to convey.
